We would like to introduce the Middle East Herald as a publication in the ethnic media mass of Australia. The Middle East Herald is a weekly Arabic newspaper edited By the Lebanese Awakening Editors on the Friday of every week.
The English Edition is published on the first Friday of every month.
The Middle East Herald serves around one million Australian-Arabs and constitutes a major link between them and their motherlands. It is a national paper published in Sydney NSW and distributed in all other Australian states and territories. In addition, 2000 copies are sent to our offices in the United States, France, Britain, Italy, Brazil, Lebanon and other Arab states. Moreover, it is now accessible on the worldwide web.
The Middle East Herald is licensed in the name of the United Australian Lebanese movement. The newspaper’s objectives range from news, information, and analysis to assisting Australians of Arabic. It fights for the Lebanese cause and every just Arabic and international cause. It is committed to provide the Arabic community in Australia with all means of enlightenment, facilitation, and understanding of the Australian system and institutions. In addition to sports, education, culture, society, studies, research, economy, health and history the newspaper covers all local, regional, and international levels.
The Middle East Herald targets a wide range audience of business people, politicians, economists, and people from different backgrounds with diverse interests. Its main emphasis is the explanation of Australian laws and legislation to the portion of its audience who has difficulties with the English language. Analysis of news at all levels is a major theme in its operation. It has, in the last few months since the newspaper was established at the end of July 1996, seen a growing popularity of the newspaper manifested in people calling our offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide as well as in the increasing demand on our circulation. In addition, our staff has been interviewed on a number of radio stations and various newspapers on the basis of the rapid growth of our publication. Of those was the ABC radio and the SBS Arabic language program and other ethnic newspapers.
Despite the fact that our paper rapidly proved to be an essential publication in the Australian-Arabic press, and enjoyed an enormous support from the community, we are still offering very competitive rates in comparison to other ethnic publications.
